Wow!!! Was June ever so hot. But our passengers still braved the heat to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful trip back in time.

We reported back in April how we received a donation of railroad ties. Well, actually, we had to go pick through a used stack and haul them home. Here are a few more pictures from that adventure.

We arrived with three trailers. These were ties removed from the main line that Amtrak uses from San Antonio, TX to Chicago (Texas Eagle).

We were able to stack between sixteen and twenty four ties per trailer.

While we didn't weigh them, no one denied they were heavy.

Once we returned home, the ties were transfered by hand (for the most part) to two maintenance flats.
Anyone want to volunteer to help install them?
