The weather has finally started to cool off some. We have been working on the road crossing at Gordonville. The state recently came in a put a new five inch layer of blacktop on the road. That meant we had to come in and raise the crossing accordingly. That part was pretty easy. But now, we have to raise the tracks on both sides leading up to the crossing. We won't be able to bring the train into the city park until the work is done. Some of our members recently visited the Monticello Railway Museum in northern Illinois. Here are a few pictures of their visit there. They sold some hats and whistles at a table but I think they spent more time playing on the trains. Visit us soon in October as the weather cools and the leaves start their changing of colors.
